Gianna Edirimanne

Provisional Psychologist

Gianna Edirimanne

B. Psych (Hons), Master of Clinical Psychology (current)

About

I am a Provisional Psychologist working under the supervision of an experienced Clinical Psychologist. Before training as a psychologist, I spent seven years working as a youth worker, designing and delivering wellbeing programs that supported the mental health of young people, families, schools, and organisations. During this time, I partnered with Headspace Australia to develop workshops that strengthened communication and connection between parents and adolescents.

I have a particular interest in supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, life transitions, and emotional or behavioural difficulties. I value working collaboratively with parents and caregivers, recognising the important role they play in supporting a young person's wellbeing and development.

My therapeutic approach is compassionate, patient and collaborative. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace.

My background as a meditation teacher also informs my practice, and where appropriate, I integrate mindfulness alongside evidence-based therapies to support emotional regulation, resilience, and self-awareness.

I believe every person has a unique story, and I consider it a privilege to support clients in developing greater self-understanding, confidence, and the skills to navigate life's challenges.
