Rochelle Brewty

As a Clinical Psychology Registrar, I am a warm, empathetic, open, and relaxed clinician, who can support you in dealing with life’s challenges, understanding your unique journey and experiences in life, working towards healthy relationships, and developing your strengths. I am dedicated to ensuring that my clients feel that they are working with a genuine person who understands them. I am an advocate for empowering people through therapy.

I have worked with people of varying ages (pre-school, children, adolescents, adults, older adults) and from diverse cultural backgrounds. In recognising that each person is unique, I am passionate about providing evidence-based psychology services (supported by evidence from scientific research) tailored to each person’s needs. I have worked in private and public health settings and am experienced in working with people presenting with a range of mental health difficulties.

Some of the clinical areas I can assist you with:

I am able to, and experienced in, helping people with challenges associated with anxiety, stress, interpersonal difficulties, depression, grief and loss, mental health related to another condition (e.g., diabetes, Parkinson’s Disease, memory problems, etc), neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, specific learning disorders, etc), substance-use, trauma, schizophrenia, psychosis, eating disorders, and more. In addition to this, I am also interested in helping people with mental health challenges associated with health problems, such as diabetes, cancer, terminal and chronic illness, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, etc.

Treatment and services offered:

My approach to therapy is person-centred and collaborative. I offer a warm, open, empathetic, supportive, non-judgemental, and safe space where you can feel heard, be your authentic self, and feel comfortable in sharing your challenges, experiences, and strengths. As part of my therapeutic approach, I utilise a range of evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, Problem-Solving Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-Based therapies, etc), tailored to each person’s needs and goals. When working with children, I enjoy using fun and creative evidence-based therapies embedded in a family-systems based approach, where the active involvement of the parent/guardian/carer is a crucial and integral part of therapy.

I also am experienced in, and offer, psychometric assessment to children and adults, for a range of difficulties and disorders (for example, learning difficulties, ADHD, intellectual disability, specific learning disorders like dyslexia, etc).
