Saniya Singh
Clinical Psychology Registrar
B. Psych Science (Hons), PhD (Clinical Psychology) Candidate

About
I am a Clinical Psychology registrar, completing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Wollongong. Apart from working in private practice, I teach Honours and Undergraduate Psychology students at the University of Wollongong.
I have worked across private and public hospitals and social welfare/NGO settings over the last 4 years. I have also been involved in clinical research projects examining parent-child interactions therapy, alcohol and drug use, mental-health literacy and help-seeking behaviours at the University of Wollongong.
I have a particular interest in working relationally with people across a number of presentations (e.g. personality disorders, attachment difficulties, anxiety and depression). I like to take an integrated approach to the whole person - combining the biological, psychological and social facets within the cultural and political context of the person.
My therapeutic approach is informed by a combination of CBT, ACT and DBT with an attachment focus and an understanding of psychodynamic theory, grounded in evidence-based practice. I am passionate about helping people break their interpersonal patterns through long-term therapy using a compassion-focussed and collaborative approach.
