Important Information for Managing Crisis Situations


Managing a crisis situation

If you are feeling unsafe and are worried you are at risk of harming yourself or others, do the following:

  • If you are in crisis, call 000 or present to your nearest Emergency Department

  • If you would like to speak to someone, call Lifeline on 13 11 14

  • If you would like a mental health clinician to support you, dial the Mental Health Telephone Access Line on 1800 011 511

  • Call your General Practitioner (GP) for support

  • Phone a trusted family member or friend for support and explain what you are going through

  • Try using distress tolerance skills discussed in your sessions to help you cope

  • If it is not a crisis situation and you are able to wait for the next available session, contact us for an earlier appointment by calling 8091 7867. Please note, we are not a crisis support service.
